Museum of communism
It is a fact that communism, a totalitarian regim, plays an important part in the czech history. Nevertheless, the czech are not used to speaking about this dark historic period.
We must bear in mind the damages caused by communism. That is why, in 2001, this museum was created, in order to remember the regim, its ideology and the way of life of the inhabitants under communism. Indeed, nowadays, the new generation denies this part of their history. This lack of respect of the new generation to wards communism and all the victims caused by this terrible political regime revolts them a little as they suffered for forty-one years.
We went there on Thursday 7th April. We started the visit by playing a game about the history of communism. We had to answer some questions about the Communist Party and its most important leaders. After that, a guide made us share her knowledge and we learned essential things about the regim, like the propaganda against the capitalist countries. For example, we found out that the Olympic games was a way to compare the strengths of the two opposite regims.
Our impressions :
We think that this museum was an important place to visit and that is why we particulary enjoyed it. It was really enriching thanks to the guide who explained to us the most important aspects of the communist period. It was all the more interesting as our guide was young and lived in Prague during the totalitarian regime.
A good place to go and visit !
C'est un fait que le communisme, un régime totalitaire, a eu une importante place dans l'histoire tchèque. Néanmoins, le peuple tchèque préfère généralement renier cette sombre et malheureuse période de son histoire. L'humanité doit garder à l'esprit les importants dommages causés par le communisme. C'est pourquoi ce musée fut créé en 2001, dans le but de rappeler le régime, ses idéologies et le mode de vie des habitants des pays communistes. En effet, de nos jours, la nouvelle génération renie cette part de son histoire. Le manque de respect de la nouvelle génération pour celle du communisme et toutes les victimes causées par ce terrible régime politique révolte un petit peu cette génération qui en souffra durant quarante et un ans.
Nous y sommes allés le Jeudi 7, l'après-midi, lors de notre voyage à Prague. Nous avons commencé par un petit jeu dont le but était de répondre à des questions sur le parti communiste et ses figures les plus importantes. Après cela, le guide nous a fait partager son savoir et nous avons appris beaucoup de choses sur le régime, telle que la propagande contre les pays capitalistes. Par exemple, nous avons découvert que les jeux olympiques étaient un moyen de comparer les forces de ces deux régimes opposés.
Ce que nous en avons pensé:
Nous pensons que ce musée est un site de Prague important à visiter et c'est pourquoi nous l'avons particulièrement apprécié. C'était vraiment enrichissant grâce au guide qui nous a expliqué les aspects les plus important de la période communiste, car, dans sa jeunesse, elle a vécu à Prague sous le communisme.
